TOP WELSHPOOL boxer Warren Sinden faces the biggest fight in his boxing career tomorrow night.

The 21-year-old, who represents Welshpool ABC, has the chance to become Welsh middleweight champion.

Sinden takes on Liam Williams, of the Church Place club from Bargoed, South Wales, in the senior ABA finals at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Sinden has won his last eight contests - including four in the championships - and coach and father Mike believes his son is now ready to perform on the big stage.

“Warren has done very well and is looking forward to Friday,” said Sinden senior, “We know Liam Williams is slightly shorter than Warren so hopefully that will work in our favour.

“The winner goes on to represent Wales in the Four Nations event (effectively the British championships) so there is a lot at stake.”

Warren is still based in Welshpool but is currently studying at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.

And he will be not short of a support with the club laying on a coach for supporters to make the trip to Cardiff.

Highlights of the finals night are due to be televised on BBC2 Wales at 11.30pm on Saturday.
