WELSHPOOL traders are being urged to attend Monday night’s meeting of the town’s Business Forum in the Town Hall when the one-way system will top the agenda.
Powys County Councillor David Jones, who is leading a panel of councillors charged with reviewing the impact of the road changes, has agreed to attend the meeting to hear the views of the local business community.
“This is a very important meeting and it is what the business community has been demanding,” said Forum chairman Councillor Steve Kaye.
“I want the business community to turn out in force. This is the place where views should be aired and this is the opportunity to let Powys County Council know
Welshpool traders think about the one-way system.”
Mr Kaye said he expected the council chamber to be packed. “Only seven or eight businesses were represented at the March meeting while the February meeting was full and there was a lively debate.”
At last month’s meeting the forum called on the town council to back their proposals for changes to the road system. But councillors have since voted to defer any decision until after the May 3 elections.
